As much as I would like to hold out hope that my September will be filled with days of sunshine and cool breezes, I am slowly being forced to accept that fall is here. Already there are sidewalks dusted with the shades of the chillier air and light jacket weather – and then came the 60º mornings well past 10 a.m. requiring an extra layer.
While I’ll be milking the last few weeks of summer-esque day time hours cramming in as much last minute bucket list activities, it is with a smile and a small tear that I review my summer at a glance.
This year I must say I had a blast discovering things, making new memories and finding adventure with the Mr. and my friends and wrapped it all up with a little travel, (post about that coming soon).
Although I was not as diligent with my posts during the peak of the season I did cover some pretty fun stuff in my Weekly Rewinds.
If you didn’t catch some of the major hits, here’s a brief recap:
Apple Music Launched to the expected an fare and buzz of it’s loyal client base – but with some push back from the likes of Taylor Swift about paying artists during the app’s “3 -month free trial period”.
Screenwriter, actress, author and comedian – to name a few of her titles, Mindy Kaling graced the cover of Instyle magazine’s June Cover to share some of her wisdom.
Caribbean Heritage month, see post here
Governor’s Ball Music Festival 2015 was yet another epic success as part of the massive lineup of summer concert series that took NYC by storm.
Katy Perry was featured on the cover of Forbes as one of the highest earning artists.
Federal Approval of gay marriage came in the wake of one of the country’s most gruesome hate crimes.
Misty Copeland named the American Ballet’s principal dancer- opens as the lead in Swan Lake
Tons of outfit posts (really should start doing these outfit posts) – can you tell I love mirrors? LOL.
I also got the time to discover some awesome finds around my neighborhood, like:
And around the city:
Tried new things:
Caught up with old friends:
Partied with the kiddies;
And scratched stuff off my bucket list:
And squeezed in some quick travel.
And that’s a quick look at some of Summer 2015’s epic happenings.
